He was born in 1978 in Athens. He graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras, in 2001, where he completed his doctoral dissertation (2008). During his undergraduate studies he was honored with successive awards from the State Scholarship Foundation, IKY, and from the Technical Chamber of Greece, TCG, for his academic performance. He has been working as a freelancer since 2002.

His professional activity concerns the research of issues of production and transfer of Energy, in the field of industry, aeronautics, RES, in matters related to Biomechanics, in the education of adults and in the construction of private projects.

He is a Scientific Associate of the TEI of Western Greece (2009-present), while working, from 2002 until today as a Researcher at the Laboratory of Technical Thermodynamics of the University of Patras. In addition, he is employed as a Test Technician of the Quality Assurance system according to ISO-17025 for “Fire Reaction Tests-Reaction to Fire Tests” at the Laboratory of Technical Thermodynamics of the Department of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering, University of Patras.

He has published more than 30 papers in national, international conferences and journals and technical exhibitions, and has participated as a researcher in a number of European and national research projects.

Finally, he has ten years of experience in the design and supervision of Electrical/Mechanical installations in the building sector.

He is a B’ Class Energy Auditor, participating in a variety of energy audits (Law 4342/15).

He speaks English.

Costas holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineer, from the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA (1986).

He has been active in the field of Energy since 1988. As an energy expert he covers a wide range of energy topics, including energy saving, RES applications, energy diagnostics and measurements and the application of energy efficient technologies in buildings and industry.

Energy Advisor to the Special Secretary for Competitiveness of the Ministry of Competitiveness, for the 3rd CSF, 2001-04.

He was the National Representative of Greece in the Council of Energy Ministers, during the discussion of the Directive on Cogeneration of Electricity and Heat-2004/8 / EC (2003). Head of TCG working group for the technical directive 207101-5/2012, “Cogeneration of Electricity Heating and Cooling: Installations in buildings”, within the framework of KENAK.

President and Gen. Director of Centre of RES, CRES (2013). President of the Hellenic Association for Cogeneration of Electricity and Heat, HACHP, from 1999 – 2009 and from 2014 – today. Member of the Executive Committee of COGEN EUROPE (2008-14). Partner of IENE, (2007) and member of the Board of Directors, since 2011.

Author of numerous publications in Greek and international magazines. Member of the writing team of both the English book “Cogeneration” (IET, 2016) and the “SE Europe Energy Outlook, 2017/18”, published by IENE, author of the book, “Energy Efficiency in Industry” (EC-DG Energy, 1996) and co-author of two books, “Energy Retrofitting of Office Buildings” and “Energy Conservation Strategies for Sports Centers” (SAVE, 1997-98). Author of three books on Heating and Air Conditioning (Pedagogical Institute, 2001).

He is a certified adult educator EKDDA, (2003), and has been teaching in seminars on energy issues both in Greece and abroad, since 1990.
Building Energy Inspector, C’ Class Energy Auditor and Certified Lead Auditor ISO 50001 (TUV, 2018).

He graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering, NTUA in 1979, where he completed his doctoral dissertation (1988).

From 1988 to 2013 he worked at the Hellenic Cement Research Center of AGET IRAKLIS, from the position of researcher to technical director, in matters of S&T of new materials and products, cement production technologies, statistical quality control, concrete durability, quality excellence in cement and concrete. From 2013 to 2017 he took over the position of head of quality control of aggregates and concrete, Lafarge Beton, for 7 quarries and 17 concrete units, according to EN ISO 9001.

He has participated in the writing and implementation of many National and European S&T programs, and has participated in working groups of TCG, ELOT of the Hellenic Cement Industry Association on issues such as refractories, masonry, drywall, self-compacting concrete.

He was a member of the team for the National Appendix of ELOT EN 206, for ferro-nickel slag as a component of cement, and the Concrete Technology Regulation in 2016. He is the author of numerous publications in Greek and international journals and conferences.

He is a C’ Class Energy Auditor, with participation in a variety of energy audits (Law 4342/15) and a certified Lead Auditor ISO 50001 (TUV, 2018).

He speaks English.

He is a graduate from the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras and he holds a Doctors degree in the field of Aeronautics and Environment of the Department of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Patras.

He has participated in a number of National and European Research and Development programs as well as in the European Network of Excellence (ECATS).

 

His research interests focus on the area of ​​fluids, with an emphasis on turbulence, heat transfer, combustion, energy management, recovery and storage problems, applying advanced experimental techniques and computational tools.

Participated in the accreditation of the Laboratory of Technical Thermodynamics according to the ISO / IEC 17025 standard. Has gained significant experience in the design and development of experimental devices, documentation techniques and metrology applications.

He, currently, works as a Senior Researcher at the Department of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering of the University of Patras and at the same time teaches at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the TEI of Western Greece.

The courses he teaches are Aerospace Propulsion Systems, Fluid Engineering, Metrology, Renewable Energy Sources and Design of Heating and Cooling Facilities.

He has supervised more than thirty theses and dissertations and has published more than twenty articles in scientific journals and international conferences.

He is a B’ Class Energy Auditor, participating in a variety of energy audits (Law 4342/15).
